Stillwater is widely regarded as one of the most bike-friendly cities in the Midwest. During our 30 years of operation, we welcomed thousands of cyclists who used The Elephant Walk as their basecamp for exploring the St. Croix River Valley.
Brown's Creek State Trail
A beautiful 5.9-mile paved trail that connects downtown Stillwater to the Gateway State Trail. It offers stunning views of the St. Croix River and winds through lush hardwood forests.

St. Croix Crossing Loop
This 4.7-mile loop takes you across the historic Stillwater Lift Bridge and the new St. Croix Crossing bridge, offering a unique interstate cycling experience between MN and WI.

Gateway State Trail
For those looking for a longer ride, this trail extends 18 miles from St. Paul to Pine Point Regional Park, intersecting with the Brown's Creek trail for a full day of adventure.

Loop Trail (Lift Bridge)
A shorter, scenic route that focuses on the riverfront and the iconic Lift Bridge, perfect for a leisurely evening ride before dinner.
